GIS Based Assessment of Upper Madi Sub-Watershed, Rolpa

The Upper Madi Sub-Watershed is situated in Rolpa district of Provience 5 between 28023’44” and 28032’37” N latitude and 82027’52”- 82042’41” E longitude, covering an area of 291.0051 square kilometers, altitude ranges from 1125 meter to 3472 meter above mean sea level. The watershed covers all or part of 3 Rural municipality and Rukum East district and is drained by mainly two rivers Dadun Gad and Chunban Khola and many others small tributaries.

The objective of this assessment is to impart GIS based analytical assessment of the bio-physical and socio-economic conditions of Upper Madi Sub Watershed Rolpa and to recommend strategies action for watershed conservation and management. The findings are expected to provide a basis for developing local adaptation plan to cope with, and adapt to, the impacts of climate change in the watershed.
